7 - Problems

There are 3 steps to solve a problem :

1. We set x = "what we are looking for". For example, we set x = "the price of a ticket for Christina Aguilera's concert".

2. We write down the equation which corespond to the problem. For example, if two concert tickets cost 5 dollars less than 73 dollars, to find the price of one ticket, we write 2x + 5 = 73.

3. We solve the equation with the method in chapter 5 :
2x + 5 = 73
2x = 73 - 5
2x = 68
x = 682
x = 34

Do not forget to conclude with a small sentence : "One ticket for Christina Aguilera's concert costs 34 dollars".
